Stiegel & Naing presenting Direx Medical Systems :: Yangon Urology Meeting :: Innovative Technology for Myanmar
Stiegel & Naing hosting Direx executive for presentations to medical community in Yangon, Myanmar
The presentation addressed innovation in the field of urology, focusing on treatment of kidney stones through laser and lithotripsy- shockwave therapy:
I. Themis is a 30W Holmium Laser with a unique “Fibrex” optic fiber.
The application of lasers for intracorporeal stone fragmentation and various soft tissue procedures, have set high standards in the field of urology. Themis, and its “Fibrex” optic fiber delivery system are intended for use in surgical urological procedures as well as soft tissue treatments used in general surgery. The Themis system is a holmium laser with 2.1 micron wavelength emission which is highly absorbed by water and soft tissue.
II. Electromagnetic DSWL Double Shockwave Lithotripsy
Duet Magna introduces the combination of electromagnetic technology and the double shockwave concept, allowing for some clear and unique advantages in the field of shockwave lithotripsy. An Indiana University, USA study on Double Shockwave Lithotripsy (performed on the Duet Magna’s predecessor device) showed a 5-fold reduction in kidney damage.
III. Integra: A State-of-the-Art Electromagnetic SWL System
Integra incorporates a novel shockwave technology, innovative imaging and a revolutionary architecture oriented toward fragmentation effectiveness and accurate imaging. Integra is a single unit, including a fluoroscopy system, treatment table and shockwave unit all in one.
IV. Renova: New ED Treatment
A new non-invasive therapy takes advantage of low-intensity shockwaves to induce local controlled angiogenesis and
significantly improve penile hemodynamics. Treatment is applied in a physician’s office or private clinic. A Treatment is delivered in several short sessions and is simple, non-invasive and pain-free.
The Direx Group is one of the global leaders in Shockwave Lithotripsy utilizing pioneering breakthrough technologies in this field since the mid 1980s. Distribution and service for Direx systems now available in Myanmar by Stiegel & Naing.
